In addition to our already „working“ CHP (combined heat and power plant), we will build another one in 2022. A bit of information on how a CHP works: The gas-powered engines generate heat and electricity, a so-called combined heat and power system. The motors are designed in such a way that the hotel’s heat requirements are fully covered in summer. The electricity generated is used exclusively by the hotel. Why are we doing this?
1. Less electricity has to be purchased.
2. From spring to autumn, heat is supplied almost exclusively via the CHP units.
3. The ecological balance is positive, since not only heat but also electricity is generated.
4. We record annual cost savings for the hotel of around €20,000.
