With more than 650 objects, the Halberstadt Cathedral Treasure is considered one of the most extensive medieval church treasures in the world. Magnificent liturgical vestments, fine cast bronze works and goldsmiths works, sculptures and altarpieces testify to the masterful art of the Middle Ages. World-famous are the masterpieces of textile art, including the Abraham Angel Carpet from the time around 1150. Around 300 treasures can be experienced in the new permanent exhibition in the historic rooms of the Cathedral cloister. The Highlight of each tour is the treasure chamber, which gathers precious goldsmith and ivory works, elaborate inlays and rock crystal carving.
